Case Notes
Un-named witches mentioned by Dumfries presbytery as being in prison. Also named with Janet Wharrie (C/JO/3025). Presbytery recorded that the group of witches were in prison and Mr Veitch was appointed to send the processes to the King's Advocat. There seems to have been a long delay before Mr Blair reported that the King's advocat said there was nothing so 'momentous as to require a commission to put them to trial'. Ministers appointed to inquire about their imprisonment but no mention if they were released or if the investigation was dropped.
